Who We Are

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar is an Austin tradition during the holiday shopping season and is a great place to buy exceptional art and gifts. Open 7 days a week from 10:00am-10:00pm, the event runs from November 29th through December 24th and admission is always free.

All art and gift items for sale at our bazaar have been handmade by local area artists that are selected through a rigorous jury process. We have thousands of original works ranging from serious art to fun, kitschy items. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar is a great way to shop hassle-free, find unique gifts, and support local artists.

Gifts Galore!

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar features the work of over 130 artists and craftspeople. Our vendors offer all sorts of imaginative, quirky, and beautiful products: paintings, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics, prints, photography, and plenty of miscellany and surprises that you can’t find anywhere else.

Plenty of your favorite artists from years past are back again, joined by lots of new talent. Whether your budget is large or small, you’ll find something–for yourself, for your best friend, or for that impossible-to-shop-for relative.

So You’re an Artist…

We are always looking for new talent to showcase and if you are an artist, you might be interested in participating in the Blue Genie Art Bazaar. Here is some info to help you decide if our show is right for you.

General Show Info for Artists

The show is more like a gallery/retail store and less like an art fair. The show runs the whole month of December and is entirely indoors. Artists are assigned a wall space and are charged with creating their own display. Creativity is encouraged in the displays. Pop-up booths are not allowed. Overhead lighting is provided. Artists must tag each piece of work with their assigned artist number and the price of the piece. All sales are made at central cashier stations manned by Blue Genie staff members. Artists are not required to be present at the show but are encouraged to visit often. We do not want artists to sit in their space but instead we will give a name tag and artists are encouraged to walk the floor and engage customers. Blue Genie handles all sales tax and all sales are final. Because the show is so long, artists must be prepared with sufficient inventory to meet the demands of the show sales. All work presented in the show must have been represented during the application process. Spaces can be shared but each artists must be included in the application. Spaces cannot be transferred.

Application and Selection Process

We have a simple, easy to use online application process. We accept applications from summer to fall and the application link is available on this website while it is open. You will need to answer some questions about your art and provide us with at least 6-12 photos of your work. The questions are about the media and pricing of your work. All applications are reviewed by our jury and judged against other submissions in the same media category. It is important that you give an accurate representation of your work having good quality photos and clear descriptions. Selections are made considering factors such as creativity, craftsmanship, price, presentation and appeal. The application fee is $35 and is non-refundable.
